Important information for parents & guardians – please read:
ImPACT TESTING – This cognitive, computer based assessment test is required for all incoming 7th graders and new or untested 8th graders wishing to participate in a fall sport and will be good for 2 years (unless a head injury occurs). If your child was tested last year as a 7th grader, they do not need to retake the test for the 2019-2020 school year. An ImPACT test must be done BEFORE a student can participate. There is room for 25 students in each wave of testing; if the first session fills ups, a second wave of testing will take place after approximately one hour later or on another day. There will be a make-up session on Tuesday, August 20th at 11:30 AM.
PERMISSION FORMS – these forms must be filled out, signed and brought in prior to the first practice in order for the student to participate at the first practice. Forms are available in the KMS Reception Office or online at www.gokms.com. Click on “Files & Links” then on the appropriate form. Forms can be dropped off at KMS prior to practices, faxed, mailed, or emailed to Kennett Middle School.
PHYSICAL EXAM - Proof of a physical within 2 years is required in order to participate in KMS athletics. If your child does not have a current physical once practice start, he/she cannot participate. Please be sure make an appointment with your child’s doctor as soon as possible to avoid delay in participation. Should a child’s physical expire mid-season, the student will need to provide an updated physical in order to continue the remainder of the season, and or to be eligible to participate in a winter or spring sport. For 8th graders: Please make sure we have up-to-date physicals on file with the nurse’s office. A sport physical form in available online at www.gokms.com under the “Files & Links” tab. Tip for Parents: Please make copies of your physical. Do not hand in your original.
