Announcements and Important Events
Hello KMS Students & Families! As we approach the winter sports season at Kennett Middle School, we are working diligently to create a safe & healthy plan, and update sports protocols to offer girls basketball, boys basketball, alpine and Nordic skiing to our students during the Covid-19 pandemic. While we continue to get things organized in this unprecedented time, we would like to know who is interested in participating. We will follow many of the same guidelines and procedures put forth in the fall sports season and will fine tune them for the winter season. Reminder: Students must have a current physical on file with the school, be ImPACT Tested and register for Winter Sports in PowerSchool prior to participation. More info coming soon on the registration process.
What will the winter sports season look like? Each sport and its starting date will vary based on indoor/outdoor space, weather and sign up numbers and will take place 3-4 days per week.
Basketball will start off with a KMBA (Kennett Middle-school Basketball Association) Intramural style schedule. The KMBA basketball program will run Monday through Saturday on alternating days. We hope/plan to add games with other schools in January.
Nordic and Alpine skiing typically start in December and is based on weather and snow conditions. Potential meets will not start until mid January.
Please take a moment below to fill out the form so that we can create a schedule and guidelines based on our possible participation numbers. This same form was sent to students at KMS via their school email. More information will be forthcoming, so please keep checking your email and look for updates on www.gokms.com!
