Fall starting dates, ImPACT testing schedule and Meet The Coaches Night

KMS Fall Sports Info:  Below are starting dates for football, soccer, cross country and field hockey preseasons.  As coaches are hired and starting dates are announced, this page will be updated.  

There will be a Meet the Coaches night on Monday, August 20th at 6:30 pm in the KMS gymnasium. All parents of fall athletes are encouraged to attend.  

ImPACT testing will take place on the following dates for the following sports. Please know that student athletes are not permitted to participate in practice until all permission forms are turned in, there is a current physical (within 2 years) on file and they have been ImPACT tested.  We will meet in the KMS cafeteria.

ImPACT testing for incoming, 7th graders and untested 8th graders will take place on  the dates & times below: 

Tuesday 8/14 - Football: 10 AM      Field Hockey: 11:45 AM    Boys Soccer: 1:30 PM     X-Country:  3:00 PM

Tuesday 8/21 Girls Soccer : 9:30 AM   and Make-up ImPACT testing for those who missed it : 11:00 AM

Football:  Equipment Night will take place for 8th grade on Wednesday, 8/15 from 5:30-7:30 / 7th grade  on  Thursday, 8/16 from 5:30-7:30.  A lite practice begins 8/17 from 5:30-7:30 for all players.

X-Country: Practice will begin Monday, August 20th 3:30-5pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday until School begins.

Boys soccer:  Practices will begin Tuesday, August 8/21 from 5-6:30.  More details to follow...

Girls Soccer: Tentatively 8/27 from 3:00-4:30

Field Hockey: To Be Announced - There are currently two (2)  coaching positions open.  

All Physicals and paper work must be submitted to KMS by Friday, August 10th.

REMINDER: ImPACT testing is required for all incoming 7th graders and untested 8th graders.  This cognitive assessment must be done BEFORE a student can participate.  If you were tested and passed as a 7th grader, you are all set.  If you are an incoming 7th grader, new to KMS sports as an 8th  grader and/or have not been Impact tested, you must do so before you can participate.  Please contact Gredel Shaw, Athletic Coordinator at g_shaw@sau9.org with an questions.
