Dear KMS Baseball Parents,

    Welcome to Kennett Middle School Baseball!  We are looking forward to a fun-filled season where the kids will improve their baseball skills and conditioning as well as the value of teamwork and sportsmanship.  Our goal is to create  a positive environment so that every student, regardless of ability, has a great experience.  

     Unfortunately, we have had to enter into quarantine.  This is a slight setback, but we look forward to getting on the field again as soon as possible.  When we return to practice, we will be going outside, so please have the athletes dress accordingly.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, students are not allowed to share equipment this year.  If athletes have their own helmets, bats and catchers equipment please have them bring them to practice.  If they do not have a helmet or a bat, one will be provided for them for the season. We also strongly recommend batting gloves. 

     We have 19 athletes signed up to play baseball this year.  We will have only one team and will be rotating the players who attend the games.  We hope to take around 12 athletes to each game.  We will bat the order and have free substitution whenever possible.  This way, all players who attend the game will get lots of playing time and at bats.  We are awaiting more information from the co-curricular committee on spectators rules and guidelines for the season,  but here are a few things from school and the KMS/KHS Athletic Department that we will continue to follow and enforce:

 1. Stay at home if you are not feeling well or have symptoms.

2. Complete the pre-screening process and temperature check with your coaches prior to ANY    team activity. 

3. Wear a mask at all times.

4. Maintain 6' of social distancing whenever possible.

5. No sharing of personal equipment or water bottles.

6. Hand sanitizing repeatedly before, during and after team activities.

7. Wash clothing every day and disinfect shared equipment during and after team activities.

     Please check the GoKMS website  (www.GoKMS.com) for updates, practice and game schedules, and sign up for texts and email alerts.   We are hoping to start regular practices again on Tuesday, May 13th. Due to the current Covid Return to Play protocols, we will need to postpone the game with Moultonborough on 4/15.  A paper schedule will be handed out at the first practice after quarantine.
